In this workshop, we take a deeper look into understanding how our needs as parents truly influence the way we parent. When we learn to meet our needs and separate them from the way we parent, we can parent far more effectively. Understanding and working with our own emotions so that our children no longer trigger us is the ultimate power. We also look at understanding our children’s needs and emotions and how to put an effective structure in place so that their needs are met. This greatly reduces misbehaviour.
You will learn:
- How to understand the power structure in your home – who holds the power and when? Power is one of our basic human needs and understanding how to set up an effective power structure in your home will influence the confidence and emotional habits of your children
- How do your children’s and your need for love and connection get in the way of effective parenting?
- Strategies to work with the emotions of frustration, impatience, anger, disappointment, fear and guilt with yourself and your children
- Developing healthy emotional habits in your children which leads to confidence and good self-esteem
